The Ducati 1198 was a sports bike made by the Italian motorcycle manufacturer from 2009 to 2011, alongside the S version. The bike shared design components with its 1098 predecessor but delivered more power and torque. It also featured redesigned wheels, lighter headlights, minor paint changes, and traction control.

In 2010, the Italian motorcycle maker launched the Ducati 1198S Corse Special Edition, a sports machine that marked the historic introduction of a new Ducati Corse logo, along with a factory team-style aluminum fuel tank, a Corse livery, and a race kit.

The special edition machine also featured the same specifications as the S model, packing the same engine, suspension, and braking systems. Also, the bike rolled on seven-spoke light alloy wheels.

At the bike's core was a 1198cc four-stroke V-twin liquid-cooled engine with a fuel injection system in charge, delivering an output power of 170 hp with a peak at 9,750 rpm and 132 Nm (97 lb-ft) torque at 8,000 rpm.

The bike suspension comprised a 43 mm fully adjustable upside-down Ohlins telescopic fork on the front and a fully adjustable Ohlins shock absorber on the rear, offering excellent handling capabilities.

As for the stopping power, the 2010 Ducati 1198S Corse Special Edition packed two 330 mm discs with four-piston calipers on the front wheel and a 245 mm disc with a dual-piston caliper on the rear wheel.
